Sotheby’s Hong Kong 2012
Sotheby’s Hong Kong will hold their annual Magnificent Jewels and Jadeite Spring Sale on April 3rd at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Center. It will feature an array of precious jewels estimated at $75 to $92 million, which includes all 358 lots.
The sale is led by a showstopping 8.01 carat, VVS1 fancy vivid blue diamond ring commanding an estimate price of $11.5 to $14 million. A statement released by Sotheby’s said this beauty was the largest vivid blue, emerald cut to appear at auction for many years. Sotheby’s Hong Kong also has a long track record of being the auction house to sell quality vivid blue diamonds.
The auction will see the sale of two important pink diamonds; one fancy vivid pink 5.03 carat pear-shaped diamond ring with an estimate of $5.4 to $6.7 million and an internally flawless, fancy vivid pink 3.28 carat diamond ring expected to fetch $2.8 to $3.6 million.
Something to look out for will be a stunning pair of Kashmir sapphire and diamond pendant earrings with an estimated value of around $1.5 million. It features two natural, unheated superior colored sapphires with an uncommon clarity and well-porportioned cut. They are 7.75 and 6.27 carats respectively.
