This was around the same time that the Russian Tsar Alexander II was in power and therefore it was given the name Alexandrite. It is an extremely rare gemstone and is therefore not often found in jewelry. This gemstone is not fascinating at first, but once you have seen it in the light it has a unique beauty.

How does a swan end up in the Guinness Book of World Record may you ask? Apparently when it is made out of diamonds and placed on a finger! The Lobortas Classic Jewelry House in Kiev, Ukraine has set the world record for the most diamonds in one ring.
