Vancouver’s First Fashion Night Out!
Last Thursday, Vancouver hosted its first-ever Fashion Night Out (FNO), a fashion extravaganza which began in New York city in 2009 and has now spread across the world reaching over 200 cities. Vancouver’s FNO was a one night event which encouraged the public to come out and celebrate fabulous fashion and design. Local high-end retailers and restaurants across Vancouver’s trendiest districts helped to make the night possible by hosting the event with unbelievable sales and delicious culinary specials.
FNO organizer Florence Leung spoke passionately about the event and has worked hard to bring the fashion festival to the city of Vancouver. “Fashion is expression,” she says. “[This event] is consumer oriented but it will bring out the fashion in everyone.”
One of the most exciting events of the evening was the free fashion show at CBC Studio 40, an eclectic runway show featuring designers from all over including Vancouver’s very own talent, Jason Matlo. This fall’s hottest trends and styles were on full display as collections from French Connection and Jacqueline Conoir hit the catwalk, wowing audiences. Overall, the night was an extreme success and has proven that Vancouver’s fashion scene is alive and well!
